Descriptions

Your guide will take you at 9:00 am, that the day excursion from Marrakech to Agafay Dunes will start taking in the peace and quiet of the region as well as Takerkoust Lake and Agafay Desert.

The highway is obscured by dense forests, olive and orange groves, and goes through into the sporadic town of Ait Imour, from which point we will deviate from the major highway and drive thru a wholly distinct landscape of rock dunes, desolate lamp plateaux, Nomadic village, Oasis, and tall hills with expansive viewpoints of the High Atlas. After several hours, tiny spots of greenery will continue to emerge, and soon you’ll be back on the tarmac road, with both the old deciduous trees lining either side.

Then will reach the river’s shore, which was created as a reservoir to produce power to Marrakech. We can reach Nfis Valley via navigating minor slopes alongside the canal, passing through Berber towns, and landing at a Berber homestead. You are welcome to go see the home and eat a meal there. A two-hour trip with Saida or Hamid and an hour of hiking up to the one of the ancient communities in the foothills of the largest woodland in the Atlas Mountains are both options after for lunch. You will drop between olive trees and terraced fields to the sole home adjacent to the Nfis River after visiting a classic olive oil presser, when our journey will follow.

On arriving in Asni, a little village (market on Saturdays) with a view of Toubkal, the tallest mountain in North Africa, travellers can swim in historic salty springs. When reaching Marrakech, you will then travel by the Ghighaya valley, Tahanouete, and the Moulay Brahim gorges.
